                What is the core technology of waterborne microfiber?

                Historically, the development of artificial leather products has gone through three major stages: PVC, PU, and superfiber. Under the tide of environmental protection at home and abroad, PVC, PU, and superfiber are all undergoing a process of development towards environmental protection.

                Among them, the main solutions for PU environmental protection include water-based PU and solvent-free PU. The microfiber synthetic leather also has the potential demand for environmental protection, which is water-based microfiber. This is currently the most high-end artificial leather product, such as the most well-known Japanese Toray used this technology.                 The reason why the super-fiber synthetic leather is close to or even better than the real leather is that it largely simulates the three-dimensional structure of the real leather. The three-dimensional interpenetrating structure relies on the ultrafine fibers after fiber opening, on the other hand, it relies on the filling of resin to form a skeleton. As shown below:

                At present, many domestic ultra-fiber leathers use solvent-based polyurethane resins. Therefore, the finished super-fiber must also face the same problems as ordinary PU, with residual solvent. To solve this problem, many companies have developed water-based resins to be filled in ultra-fine fibers. It can be seen that the position of water-based resin in water-based superfiber is important.

                In the application of water-based superfibers, there is still a certain gap between domestic and foreign water-based resins. As far as we know, the water-based superfibers produced by the water-based resins produced by the three Japanese companies and the domestic Huaian Kaiyue Technology have the best performance.
